What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)?
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition, where there is pressure on a nerve in the wrist and it gets compressed1. This causes tingling, numbness, and pain in the wrist, hands, and fingers. CTS is the most common entrapment neuropathy of the upper limb2.
What may cause CTS?
Frequent, repetitive, small movements
Arthritis
Osteoarthritis
Hormonal or metabolic changes, such as pregnancy
Injury
Family history
Weakness when gripping objects
Pain and numbness
Pins and needles
Swollen fingers
Burning and tingling in the fingers
Repetitive Movement
